U·MOB LIFE and MUV B Corp organize the 1st International Tournament between European Universities on Sustainable Mobility

On the occasion of the European Mobility Week 2021, the U·MOB LIFE project along with the company MUV B Corp (formerly known as “MUV – Mobility Urban Values”, a research project funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 programme) have launched the first edition of the International Tournament between Universities on Sustainable Mobility.

What is this all about?

After organising it at the beginning of 2020 and having to suspend it due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U·MOB LIFE consortium together with the MUV B Corp company have finally been able to celebrate the first edition of the tournament, which will take place between 20 September and 13 November.

During this period, the students and staff from a total of 16 European universities in 4 different EU countries (Croatia, Italy, Poland and Spain) are participating thanks to being part of the U·MOB LIFE network.

With this activity, U·MOB LIFE aims to improve urban mobility through an innovative approach that encourages the university community to move in a more sustainable way through gamification. This will enrich the relationship and collaboration between the universities and their educational community through values shared, and facilitate the development of new and more effective sustainable mobility policies.

With this initiative, universities reaffirm their commitment to sustainability, protection of the environment, and CO2 reduction, with the intention of turning the campus into an area of ​​0 emissions, value awareness methods and changing habits towards more sustainable ones.

How do universities compete?

Once the participants have downloaded the MUV Game app that turns mobility into a sport, they can start collecting points in their routine home-university journeys on foot, by bike, by scooter, by carpooling or by public transport. All together contribute to their team score.

The top 3 players will receive prizes from the U·MOB LIFE network and the winning university will be publicly awarded at the U·MOB Online Final Conference on 17 and 18 November 2021.
